José Antonio’s tennis career spans over three decades, distinguished by remarkable achievements both on and off the court. His journey began with a victory at the 1979 Orange Bowl World Championship for Juniors, a milestone that signaled his early promise in the sport. He then transitioned to the professional circuit, where he competed on the ATP Tour for 12 years, reaching a career-high ranking of 202 in 1991. His contributions to the Chilean Davis Cup team from 1986 to 1992 further cemented his reputation as a skilled and dedicated player.

After retiring from professional tennis, José Antonio embarked on a coaching career that spanned over 25 years. Notably, he spent 15 years as Director of Tennis at BASF TC in Ludwigshafen, where he developed a coaching philosophy centered on the holistic development of players, focusing on both athletic performance and personal growth.

In 2018, José Antonio founded SPORTmind©, an initiative aimed at unlocking players‘ potential from within. Through this platform, he coached renowned athletes like Steffi Graf and mentored numerous promising juniors, leaving a lasting impact on the sport.

José Antonio’s expertise extends beyond coaching. He served as the Official
Agent for the Rafa Nadal Academy by Movistar until 2018 and contributed to
the Tennium Tennis Platform from 2018 to 2020. Today, he continues to
influence the tennis world through his own High-Performance Program,
embodying his commitment to excellence and player development.
